What is overpaid benefit?
Overpayment of benefit is when you have been paid benefit that you are not entitled to. This can happen because you have a change in circumstances, which you have delayed in telling us about. In most cases the person who received the money will have to pay it back.
The most common reasons for overpayment are:
You move address and we have already paid your benefit
Your income increases
A non dependent moves in or their income increases
You stop receiving Income Support/Job Seekers Allowance
