Building Control Customer Charter
We are continually looking to improve the way we provide services to our customers, whatever the reason for your contact with us or whoever you are dealing with.
We will:
- Welcome preliminary discussions with customers on pre-application advice.
- Make available a duty surveyor to provide thecnical advice between 3pm and 5pm Monday to Thursday and between 3pm and 4:30pm Friday.
- Provide a 24 hour voicemail service and respond within 4 working hours.
- Provide you with an informative website that is up-to-date.
- Accept plans electronically through our website and will send an acknowledgement within 2 working days.
- Respond within 24 hours once a dangerous structure is reported.
- Issue demolition counter notices within four weeks of reciept
- Provide advice, wherever possible, to historic plans and provide advice on local ground conditions.
We aim to:
- Carry out same day inspections, if request made before 10:00am.
- We aim to make decisions on applications within the statutory limit of 5 weeks or 2 months.
- Check 85% of deposited plans within 15 working days.
- Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys in order to improve our service.
