Details of service:
There are several ways in which the planning history information of a property can be discovered, the details of which are outlined here:
By viewing the 'raw data' at the council offices
A new service is to start Monday the 2nd of June when search companies and individuals who have a genuine reason to view the raw data of planning histories may do so. Please refer to the document on the right hand side of this page 'Protocalol for Personal Searches' of which an extract is produced below:
1. Appointments should be made by calling the Planning Business Support Team on 023 80 83 2447
2. Only one booking per phone call will be taken (allowing equal access to all search companies)
3. The bookings are for half hour slots on the hour and half past the hour, if a search company is half way through doing a search when their time is up they will be asked to stop their work at
at point and leave.
4. The half hour slots will be between 10.00am and 12.00 noon and then between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.
5. If you are not able to keep the appointment we would require you to advise us in good time so that we may offer the slot to other users.
Please read the document fully. It contains important information to make your visit to our offices as pleasant and productive as possible. You will be asked to sign a copy of this document. The viewable document is read only and you will be unable to print or save it.
Written Request
By requesting in Writing to the Development Control Office. There is a charge of £25 for this service and we will respond within two working days. A site location plan will be needed clearly showing the site and address that you want to have researched.
By booking a Planning or Highways Personal Search
By booking a Full Land Charges Department Search. A full property search can be booked through Land Charges. The fee is £168.00 and the search includes Planning History, Highways Information, Building Control and Environmental Health (both Residential and Commercial/Industrial Environmental Health).
To book a full property search through the Land Charges Department you will need to complete and send in a search form which is available from the Law Society Stationers or from a Solicitor. Along with this form you will need to send 4 site location maps with a scale of 1:1250, with the property(s) to be searched outlined in red on each map. The payment of £168.00 by cheque or postal order must be included with the search form and must include the 4 maps.

Planning only that includes full planning history, policies and riders: £25.00 per address.
Decision Notices
Copies of decision notices are available from the planning office at a cost of £20.00 per notice. Please send the fee applicable to the above addreess.
