Planning Advice

If you are submitting a planning application for the first time or need any help and advice guiding you through the planning process, please take some time to look through the various documents available. You may of course wish to discuss your application with a planning officer but you will get far more out of the consultation if you are aware of some of the basics.

As with any profession there are lots of technical terms and "jargon" used within development control, explanations of a lot of these terms can be seen on the planning terms page. (See links on the right hand side)

Advice Leaflets

There is a lot of information and advice available for people who wish to submit a planning application. Much of it is available either on-line from this site or from linking to other sites such as the Planning Portal. Alternatively it is available at the Gateway Reception in the Civic Centre. (see internal links on the right hand side)
