Woolston Riverside
This Planning Brief and Illustrative Masterplan has been prepared over a six-month period through a process of close collaboration involving Southampton City Council Officers and Members, South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), English Partnerships (EP) and their consultants.
It is intended that the brief will provide an early design framework and set out the broad principles to guide development at the former Woolston shipyard site.
The site is being brought forward as a joint initiative between SEEDA and EP and it will be known as Woolston Riverside. SEEDA own the site.
The strategic intention is to promote and secure the comprehensive regeneration of the site for major mixed-use development comprising new employment opportunities, residential, local retail/leisure and community facilities.
Woolston Riverside is a flagship scheme for SEEDA and EP.
