Premises licences

Premises Licence

Under the Gambling Act 2005 Southampton City Council is the licensing authority for premises licences for each of the following activities:

  • Betting Shops
  • Bingo Halls
  • Casinos
  • Adult Gaming Centres
  • Family Entertainment Centres (if having category C and D machines)

Before application can be made for a premises licence from the licensing authority, an operators' licence is required from the Gambling Commission (please see the link to their web site below)

Opening hours

Members of the licensing team will normally be available at Southbrook Rise, 4-8 Millbrook Road East, Southampton SO15 1YG, to assist personal callers on weekdays between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 14:00 and 16:00. We may be available at other times by prior appointment.
