How we tell you about opportunities?

The advertisement for the particular supply or scheme will give a brief outline of the requirement and list the information requirements to be supplied with your expression of interest. Potential tenderers may be sent a pre-qualification questionnaire requesting more detailed information regarding financial accounts, health & safety, equal opportunites, sustainability and relevant information pertinent to the requirement. This is to assess the potential bidders’ suitability to supply the Council and ability to satisfy the contract. It is important that companies supply all of the requested information and respond by the due date. The potential bidders will be ranked according to the information supplied and usually the top six will be invited to tender for the requirement.

Advertisements are normally placed in the Southern Daily Echo published by Newsquest and an appropriate trade journal. Some requirements exceed EU thresholds and are also advertised in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) published by the Office of Publications (OP) in Luxemburg. These advertisements are called "contract notices" and are sent via BiP Solutions Ltd in Glasgow to the OP. These "contract notices" can be accessed by using the links to the right, please note that this is a subscription service. Information regarding opportunities for SME's can also be found at the Southern European Information Centre website, use the link to the right and sign up for their free trial for tender details.

Please note that a number of construction contracts, are let using the Construction Partnering arrangements. These framework arrangements are in place for partners that provide construction related works.
