The Government fixes the multiplier each year. The multiplier cannot increase each year by more than inflation.
This has changed now, the inflation is the difference between previous year’s SBRR multiplier and the current year’s.
For 2011/12 the multiplier is 43.3p and the small business rate multiplier is 42.6p.
