Junior Neighbourhood Wardens

JNW figure 3

The scheme promotes citizenship and helps towards tackling juvenile nuisance and anti social behaviour by engaging with young people and encouraging them to join in the activities.
This has proved successful in educating the junior wardens about their environment and the value of making their community a nicer place to live.

Regular events are organised during school holidays where the Junior Wardens work alongside the council’s official Neighbourhood wardens and other council services to help improve their local area. These community events range from litter picks, clean ups, painting projects, visits to fire stations, graffiti removal, recycling and environmental projects, JNW figure 1

garden projects, fundraising for local charities, annual Sports Day, meeting the police at Netley training college and much, much more.

There are no joining or attendance fees. Recruiting takes place throughout the year and a simple application form is required to register.
