Thomas Foreman, 11, from Bitterne, beat five others to scoop the title of Junior Neighbourhood Warden of the Year 2007 in an awards ceremony held at the Mayor’s Parlour Civic Centre. The five other wardens, who were also given prizes for their efforts were Kiaya Harvey, Daniel and Carl Jones, Ashley Barfoot and Sam Wilkins. |
Thomas said he was delighted to win the overall prize, which was presented to him by Mayor Stephen Andrew-Barnes. “I wasn’t expecting it so it is brilliant,” he said. “I decided to become a warden after one of my friends recommended it to me. It is great fun and I enjoy taking part in all the activities.” Junior wardens work hard to make their communities a great place to live.
