Sports day - August 27, 2008

On the 27th August at Bassett Outdoor Sports Centre Junior Wardens and Junior Warden Leaders from across the city will be taking part in the third annual sports day.
It is anticipated that more than 150 Junior Wardens will attend this year, as well as young advisors from Winchester and Portsmouth joining in the fun.

Thanks to Southampton City Council’s Sports Development Team, Junior Wardens will be put through their paces. There will be a variety of activities, catered for the not-so-sporty to the very-sporty, to score points for the their Partnership area to win the coveted shield. And this year an inflatable assault course will be added to the list of activities.

As East Partnerships Junior Wardens won by a narrow margin last year, we are expecting the result to be very close this year. Families and friends of Junior Wardens are very welcome to attend this day-long event and seating is available

The Sports Day will be opened by the Mayor, Councillor Brian Parnell and the Mayoress Mrs Mary Parnell at 11am.
