Residential services for children

(Also known as: Children's homes)

Our residential service provides accommodation for children up to 16 years old.

Who can use this service:

Young people aged 13 to 16-years-old living in the city can use our service. We support families to look after their own children at home. If they cannot, the unit provides an option for the child. We will assess any child who may be in need of our help. You can refer a family to us through the Children's Assessment Team. If a family already has an allocated social worker, they will carry out the assessment for us.

Ways To Apply:

You can request an application for an assessment by phone. This is only needed if the family involved is not already known to Social Services.

Details of service:

We provide accommodation for young people in two homes or 'units'. One of the units provides an emergency and short term service and also works with families on an outreach basis. The other unit provides long term placements and helps young people to become independent.
