Southampton City Council is consulting on the admission policies for community and voluntary controlled schools for admission in September 2022.
Copies of the proposed policies, as well as the proposed Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for those applying to voluntary controlled schools on denominational grounds, can be found below.
To demonstrate the Council’s commitment to the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, a priority for children who qualify for the Service Pupil Premium has been proposed for the 2022 policies.
Due to low birth rates in the 2022 cohort, the Council are seeking to reduce the Published Admission Number (PAN) of St Mary's Primary School from 90 to 60.
St Mark’s CofE Primary School will open as an All-Through school in September 2022. As such, they will have an additional point of entry to the school into Year 7 from this time. This has been reflected in the Southampton City Council Secondary School Admission Policy.
While currently a community school, St Monica Primary School will academize between the consultation period and determination period. Because of this, the school has been separated from the SCC general policy to form its own policy, so that this can appropriately be adopted by the academy when this process is complete. A copy of this proposed policy is also being consulted on and can be found below.
The consultation will run from 14 December 2020 to 25 January 2021.
The Council welcomes views from any interested parties. Please send any comments to: firstname.lastname@example.org, stating whether you are a parent/carer of a student at a Southampton City school, a local resident, a member of school staff or any other interested party.
