Upper Freemantle parking restrictions

The Upper Freemantle parking restrictions survey is now closed. We will update these pages when further details are available.

Over recent years, the Council have received a number of concerns from residents over the increasing level of traffic and shortage of on-street parking in this locality. The Ward Councillors have asked that we undertake a survey to see whether there would be community support for a permit parking scheme and a measure to reduce through traffic.

We are therefore seeking your views on whether the Council should propose the following:

  • Permit Parking restrictions in the roads
  • “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions around the junctions of the roads
  • A “No Entry” restriction (except cycles) to prohibit traffic entering Firgrove Road from Richmond Road/Park Road.

We appreciate that residents may have different views on these proposals depending on where they live and their circumstances. The Council would therefore be looking for a convincing majority of respondents to be in favour of possible changes in their roads, before proceeding with any formal proposals. These may well be localised to individual roads. Any proposals arising from this survey would still be subject to a legal public consultation process before a final decision is made by the Highways Manager.
