Standards board for England

The Standards Board for England was established by virtue of the Local Government Act 2000. Its function is to help build confidence in local democracy. It does so by promoting the ethical behaviour of members and co-opted members who serve on a range of authorities and through receiving and investigating allegations that Members may have breached the Code of Conduct.
