All councils have to publish a Statement of Accounts covering specified matters. It shows how we have used public money, and that we have been honest and responsible. The Council’s Statement of Accounts has been prepared in accordance with the Accounting code of Practice.

The Audit Commission have published a guidance booklet which summarises your rights to inspect, question and challenge the Council’s accounts.
Under these arrangements the Council issues public notices to advise when the accounts are available for inspection:
A notice of public rights to inspect the accounts and supporting documents is issued when the Council has finalised its annual accounts. The latest notice is available below and this provides details of inspection rights and dates for the period that lasts 20 days.
