This pack (shown in the link at the end of this page) has been designed by Electoral Services as part of its commitment to encouraging participation in the democratic process. It is hoped that schools may be able to conduct an election of school council representatives, house captains, etc by following a similar process used to run all local and national elections.
The information can be used as a starting point to ‘getting involved in the election process’ from becoming a candidate to being elected. To stimulate discussion, participation and understanding of how the voting process works.
