Residence in Second Homes

Where should I register?
If you have a second home and feel you have an equal amount of time in both places you can register to vote at both. You should reside for at least six months a year (or at least three days per week) to be registered at an address.

You have the right to vote in respect of both addresses at the time of a local election (providing the address is not within the same ward) but you must choose only one address to vote in respect of when Parliamentary and European Parliamentary elections are held.

How can I vote?
If you are unable to attend at your allocated polling station to vote in person you can choose to vote by post or by proxy (someone voting on your behalf).

Please note that at the time of an election there will be deadlines for receipt of applications to register and to vote by post or by proxy.
