SITES - Southampton Information Training & Employment Services
The aim of SITES is for partner organisations to work together to:
• Reduce unemployment and increase the number of people in work
• Improve the skills levels of people in Southampton
• Reduce the number of people on low income and help people who find it difficult to find work
• Help local people to earn more money.
The Board
A board of around twenty members meets to check that progress is being made against the above aims. For further information on the make-up of the board please see below.
Who can use this service?
The partners in SITES provide services to individuals seeking training or a job. Some may also provide recruitment support for employers and a range of other useful functions:
Services for individuals
• Information, advice and guidance on jobs and training
• Access to job search resources
• Training courses
• Supported employment – doing a real job with the support of an agency.

Services to employers
• Help with filling job vacancies
• Training for staff/ future staff (where there are no other providers)
• Support in meeting your business’s social responsibility agenda
Other services
• Sharing data and information on the local job market, skills, and new employers coming to the city
• Sharing news of funds that could be used for SITES activities
• Gaining support and funds from building developers
• Joint working to prevent overlap or duplication in services
• Support for smaller organisations
• Support and promotion of SITES
