Council Tax e-billing

You can opt to receive your Council Tax bill electronically. This saves time, is more secure and will help us in reducing collection costs and environmental impact.

Benefits of electronic billing

  • It is faster, as you will receive an email telling you your bill is ready to view
  • It saves paper, therefore making it better for the environment
  • Each person on the bill can get their own electronic copy
  • E-billing reduces printing and postage costs

How does e-billing work?

You will receive an electronic bill via your MySouthampton account. Each time you are issued a new or updated bill you will receive an email advising you to go online and view it.

Signing up for e-billing is easy

To get e-bills you will need a MySouthampton account. Once you have activated your account and subscribed to Council Tax you can request e-billing.

To sign up for a MySouthampton account you will be asked security questions relating to your Council Tax account which may include the following details:

  • Council tax account number
  • The amount you pay each month
  • The date of the payment
  • The last four digits of your bank / building society account the payment is made from

Landlords

If you are a landlord of multiple properties and would like to sign up for e-billing you can do so using the button below. Once you have activated your account and subscribed to Council Tax you can request e-billing.

You will be asked security questions relating to the Council Tax account linked to your properties and may include the following details:

  • Council tax account number
  • The amount you pay each month
  • The date of the payment
  • The last four digits of your bank / building society account the payment is made from
