Our Customer Excellence Awards were set up in 2005 to give you an opportunity to tell us when we have delivered exceptional customer service. We're looking for those outstanding experiences of great customer service which let us know when we have got it right and excelled!

New Annual Team Award

In October 2010 we introduced an annual team award, as it was clear from nominations received that you would sometimes like to nominate a team rather than an individual.

More information on how to make your nomination is shown below but if you have any questions please ring 023 8083 3078.

Thank you for all your nominations!

How to make yours a winning nomination

1. How do I make my nomination?

  • Use the nomination form link on the right of this page.
  • Fill in a nomination form, available in reception areas
  • Telephone us on 023 8083 3078
  • E-mail us at customer.services@southampton.gov.uk
  • Ask a member of staff to record the details and send them to us on your behalf.

2. What makes a strong nomination?

  • We need to have more than "… does a good job" or "… is a nice person". Please give as much detailed information as possible, describing what the person did to show us how they have gone out of their way to help you.
  • You are welcome to add a separate sheet of paper to our form, if you cannot get all the information on.

3. What happens when I have made a nomination?

You will receive a letter or email confirming we have received your nomination. We'll then contact your nominee, explaining that they have been nominated. If you prefer the person you are nominating not to know who you are, your comments will be passed on anonymously.

Individual winners are chosen quarterly and our team award is annual.

4. Who chooses the winner?

Winners are chosen by a panel of three people, including a Head of Service.

5. What happens to the winner?

The winner and their nominator are invited to attend a presentation and awards ceremony in the presence of the Mayor. The ceremony offers us a chance to say thank you to you for making your nomination. The winner will be presented with various gifts to commemorate the day, including a certificate and £50 worth of vouchers to spend in a store of their choice. We'll also take some photographs for our staff magazine and our flagship publication, City View.
