Bridging the divide

The Learning Skills Council (LSC) plans and funds high quality education and training for those people in England who are not at university.

We run the LSC funded project ‘bridging the divide’. We work with people, who have disabilities, to get new skills and better their education.

We help people go to college if they have not been able to in the past. We also support people who may have had bad experiences with education in the past.

Our employment officers or social workers can make referrals to this service.

We look at referrals on a person to person basis and then build a course to suit their needs.

We have run courses in the past like:

  • Keeping yourself safe
  • Basic money skills
  • Social skills
  • Basic literacy and innumeracy skills
  • Basic food hygiene, which is certified by the Royal Institute of Public Health.
