Volunteer Support Team

The City Limits volunteer support team is looking for people who:
  • Want to get back into a work environment
  • Would like to build up their CV
  • Want experience in the health and care sector
  • Fancy a career change
  • Want to try something different
  • Just have some spare time on their hands.
As a volunteer, you will provide a high quality service to our clients:
  • Within one of the day services bases in Southampton
  • Out in the community
  • Supporting people on a 1 to 1 basis
  • Supporting people within their place of work, helping them develop skills and increase their confidence.
What you can get from volunteering?
  • You will be offered in-house training
  • You will learn new skills
  • You will gain good experience to include on your CV or job applications
  • You will get support from other team members
  • You will have regular meetings with the volunteer coordinator who will support you in your volunteering and help you to move forward
  • It will help build your confidence
  • You'll have a chance to make some new friends.
Frequently Asked Questions:
  • As one of our volunteers, you can do as many or as few hours as you want, and at times that suit you.

  • If you are on benefits, volunteering will not affect them.

  • As a volunteer, you will not be out of pocket in any way. You will be fully reimbursed for any costs that you incur.

By law you will also need to fill out a criminal disclosure form (police check) before you will be able to work with our clients. You will get this form when you send back your application form.
