District area team
"Improve the overall cleanliness of our local neighbourhood areas" - this was the strong message from residents during the 2001 Best Value Review. Compact Sweeper teams, with new machines, are now making a clean sweep across the city. The sweeper machines can go where large mechanical sweepers cannot reach, mounting kerbs to give paths and footpaths a thorough spruce-up.
Working with area based cleansing and grounds maintenance teams, the deep clean of district areas includes scraping out weeds, removing leaves, litter, glass and general debris, therefore ensuring a thorough scrub of the locality.
