Would you like to pay a compliment, comment on, or make a complaint about any of Southampton City Council’s services?

We aim to provide high quality services, and would be delighted to hear from you if you feel that we have achieved this. We do accept that occasionally things can go wrong. If you think we have let you down, please tell us so that we can put things right. This will also help us to ensure that people have fewer problems in future.

Please also tell us if you have any general suggestions on how we can improve services; we are interested in your views.

If you do not know where to direct your compliment, comment of complaint, or would like help in making it, you can contact our switchboard on 023 8022 3855. They will be able to advise you or put you in contact with someone who can.

To give feedback in person, or to get help filling out the form you can visit Gateway, our one-stop shop, at the Civic Centre. You can also visit any of the Council’s sites that are open to the public, such as Local Housing Offices and Libraries.

You can also go to www.southampton.gov.uk the council’s website. Use the contact us and Complaints section for more detail on how to make a compliment, comment or complaint about any of our services, including an online form.

There are links here to the complaints procedures of other (non-council) service providers and to other organisations that may be able to assist you in making your complaint.

We can also direct you to the detailed Corporate Complaints Policies, procedures and standards used to manage the way we deal with complaints at Southampton City Council. These show you how to take your complaint further if you were not satisfied with the response.
