Our Foster Carer Criteria document and Myth Buster sheet will help you decide if fostering is for you, and whether you might be who we’re looking for.

You are normally approved for an age range of children that fits with your own family, your expectations and circumstances. The minimum age we will consider for a foster carer is 21. Enquire About Fostering form

When we've received your enquiry form, one of our team will phone you to discuss your interest in Fostering. If everyone is happy to progress, we will then arrange for us to visit you. Following on from a successful visit we will send you the full Application form. Once we've had the completed form back, the assessment process starts and takes a maximum of 8 months to complete.

We will carry out various background checks and take up references. The time it takes for the checks to come back to us varies.

As part of the assessment there's also a training course to help you with some of the challenges you might face. This helps to provide you with the skills you'll need for fostering.
