Concierge service with CCTV

There are closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras inside and outside your block. These may be located in the entrance and foyer areas, in the bin and shed areas, lifts and other communal areas. Where CCTV is in operation, the area will be clearly sign-posted.

Some of these cameras, particularly those outside the building, will be controlled from the control centre. These cameras can be moved to change their view and can zoom into any particular incident. All images viewed by these CCTV cameras are recorded and will normally continue to be recorded even when the rest of the service is unavailable.

The CCTV scheme will operate in accordance with the Southampton City Council’s CCTV code of practice. Please ask at your local housing office if you would like a printed copy of the code of practice. This code of practice satisfies all relevant legislation. The personal privacy and civil liberty of those living in, and those visiting the areas covered by the service, are protected.
