How does the Concierge service work - Door Entry
Door Entry
You, as a tenant, will be given a number of small plastic tokens which act as door entry keys. These “token keys” open the internal communal doors and the main entrance doors. To open the door, the token key must be held close to an electronic panel which will be located nearby. A standard number of token keys will be issued to you based on how many bedrooms you have in your home.
You may purchase additional token keys, or a replacement, if you lose the original, at a charge of £10, from your local housing office. Please note that any token keys that you report to us as lost, will be cancelled from the system to prevent them being used again.
You are responsible for the security of these token keys. You may issue them to the other people who live in your home, your family, friends or other people who visit you regularly, such as carers.
Your visitors to the block can normally call your flat through the main door entry panel. You must then decide whether or not to release the lock on the main door to allow them to enter the block. You are responsible for the behaviour and actions of your visitors and for those to whom you have issued your token keys. If they are involved in any activity that is in breach of your tenancy agreement we can take action against you, whether you are aware of their behaviour or not.
At certain times there may be high levels of anti social behaviour in the area. At these times the concierge service centre may take control of all the calls through the main door entry panel. At these times, if a visitor calls your flat, the centre will then call you, using the handset in your flat, to establish whether or not you wish to allow the visitor to enter the block.
The door entry system creates a computerised record every time a token key is used. We may use these records for the prevention and detection of crime or breaches of your tenancy agreement. We may also use these records to check on your well-being, particularly if you are elderly or vulnerable.
