Also know as 'Allocations' or 'Housing Register'.

Homebid couple

There is a great demand for social housing in Southampton. Therefore we need to keep a register of people who want to be rehoused. This is a combined list of Southampton City Council tenants who want to move to different accommodation (transfer) and those in private or rented accommodation staying with family and friends. It also includes Housing Association tenants, and those in temporary accommodation.

To make sure that people in the greatest housing need have priority, a points scheme is used to assess the needs of each housing application. There is one form to complete. Guidance notes are available to help you complete the application form.

The service is available for all qualifying Southampton City Council tenants.

How to obtain an application form

• Gateway Southampton at the Civic Centre
• At any Local Housing Office in Southampton >
• Download from the web.
(See 'Housing application form' in the right hand window)
