Energy grants

There are two main grants available in Southampton. These aim to help residents keep warm, and save money on heating bills.

Southampton City Council has a partnership with British Gas and their contractors Miller Pattison to provide insulation for residents at discounted prices or even free.

Who qualifies?

• residents who own their own home
• residents who rent from a private landlord
• residents who receive certain benefits, the work will be carried out free.

The other main grant available is Warm Front. This provides energy efficiency and heating measures of up to £2,700, if you own your home, or rent it from a private landlord.

Who qualifies for Warm Front?

You may qualify if:

• you are over 60
• you have a child under 16
• you are pregnant, and are in receipt of qualifying benefits
• you are in receipt of certain disability related benefits.
