Consultation

The council must consult with those who stand to be affected by an Additional Licensing Scheme and the general public. This process will help inform any scheme that is prepared.

This consultation has started and includes using questionnaires to gauge opinion about Additional Licensing. There is one questionnaire designed for landlords, letting agents and managing agents; and another designed for occupants of HMOs, owner occupiers, other private tenants, council tenants and Housing Association tenants.

The responses the Council receive at each stage of the consultation process will help shape the detail of any proposed scheme. This is an opportunity for you to have your say about the Council’s intention to apply for a city-wide Additional Licensing Scheme for all HMOs in Southampton. The information you provide at each stage will shape the detail of any proposed scheme. Your opinion counts.

The second stage of consultation will involve full public consultation on the proposed scheme. This document will appear here so please keep an eye out for it.

Please be assured that any personal details you provide will only be used for the purpose of this research and consultation exercise. It is important to us that we are able to provide feedback to you. We will not be able to do this unless you provide your personal information. If you do give us your details we will notify you when the proposed scheme is put out to public consultation.
