(SASSH) Once a registration form has been submitted page 3

Once a registration form has been submitted, the property will be advertised through the two universities’ intranet sites. The advert will include the number of rooms the property has, how much the rent is, what level of accreditation is achieved, etc. Students can search through the list of available properties and contact the landlord direct to arrange a viewing. Students who move into an accredited property and feel that the appropriate standard is not being achieved, can contact Southampton City Council Private Sector Housing Service, who will visit and identify any potential shortcomings.

Please telephone 023 80832606 or e-mail shared.housing@southampton.gov.uk if you would like to discuss the standards, or report a problem in an accredited property. In addition to responding to complaints and requests, the Private Sector Housing Service also carries out inspections of a random sample of accredited properties each year, to check compliance with the standards.
