Join a consultative group

If you have ever come up with ideas that would improve your housing or think that the housing service could run more efficiently and effectively, then you are an ideal candidate to join one of our consultative groups.

Panels

The panels have been set up so council tenants can meet housing staff and have a say about their local area, be involved in monitoring, scrutinising and shaping the housing service and influence policies. Even though the panels are open to all Southampton City Council tenants, there may be an application process to join the group.

Tenant inspectors: If you are interested in looking into detail at the different housing departments, and making recommendations to improve these services.

Tenant repairs panel: If you are interested in the hands on work of repairs and maintenance.

Tenant resource group: If you are interested in how the housing budget is spent.

Tenant scrutiny panel: If you are interested in how the housing department sets and works towards its targets.

Building safety group: This group gives members the opportunity to raise any concerns and questions on behalf of other tenants.

Forums

Forum meetings are open to all SCC tenants and leaseholders. Tenant's forums aim to improve housing services and conditions for our tenants; give tenants the opportunity to join in, raise concerns and find out more about issues that affect our local community.

Central district forum: If you are a council tenant living in the central area.

Leaseholder forum: If you are a leaseholder in a council owned building.

Thornhill Highrise residents' meetings: If you are a council tenant living in Thornhill Highrise.

Supported housing forum: If you are interested in what happens in supported housing.

Weston community forum: If you are a council tenant living in the Weston area.

City wide block rep forum: If you are a block rep for your area - open to block reps only.
