Admissions policies

There are different types of schools in Southampton and not all follow the Local Authority's (LA) admissions policy. Some schools have their own admissions policies, which they set themselves.

The table below shows who the admissions authority is for each school type in Southampton.

Admissions authority

Southampton City Council (SCC) is the admissions authority for all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools, and these schools follow the admissions policy set out by the LA.
