You may wish to change your child's school during the academic year for the following reasons:
If you are applying for a school place for either of these reasons, you cannot apply online.
The online applications process is only for children starting in Year R, 3 or 7 in September. Changing schools during the academic year is called an in-year transfer.
Applying for a school place to start between 1 September 2011 and 23 July 2012
If you are applying for a school place to start during the academic year 2011-12 (September 2011 to July 2012) you cannot apply online.
If you are living outside the Southampton City Council area (i.e. you pay your Council tax to another Council e.g. Test Valley, Eastleigh) you must apply for a place in a Southampton school via your home local authority.
How to apply
If you live in Southampton and your child has no school place ring 023 8083 3004 and ask for an application form to be sent to you.
Alternatively you can collect a form from Gateway at One Guildhall Square, and either return the completed form to them or post it to the Admissions Team, Southbrook Rise, 4-8 Millbrook Road East, Southampton SO15 1YG.
Please note that you cannot visit the Admissions Team at Southbrook Rise in person.
If your child is on roll at a school in the city, complete an application form at your child’s current school and they will forward it to the Admissions Team.
