School meals in Southampton are provided by City Catering, the council’s in-house hospitality service.
We won the Hospitality Assured award for the fifth year in May 2009. This is the standard for service and business excellence in hospitality. We are only the tenth local authority to get this award. We join a small group of organisations that have this award which includes The Ritz, London.
To find out more about this award, please visit the Hospitality Assured website using the link below.
At a current cost of £1.80 a day in Primary schools and £2.00 a day in Secondary schools, our school meals offer excellent value for a nutritional, balanced meal.
In Primary schools, parents should make payments in person at the school office. In Secondary schools, students should pay for their dinner in the canteen.
Primary and Special schools menu
We offer a full three-week menu to our Primary and Special schools, which fully complies with the government's new School Food Standards.
A copy of the Primary and Special schools menu for summer 2010 can be viewed using the link in the 'downloadable documents' box below.
Special requirements
The menus represent the standard choices available to your child. Some schools may offer alternatives to meet the ethnic, religious or special needs of their pupils. We are happy to discuss any individual needs with parents.
