School list and map

There are a variety of schools in Southampton providing education for children up to 16 years of age.

This page lists the different schools within the boundary of Southampton City Council with links to their websites, and has a location map which you can use to find your nearest school.

Southampton schools are marked on the map on the left. The different school types are colour coded as follows:

Primary schools - blue
Infant schools - red
Junior schools - green
Secondary schools - turquoise
Special schools - yellow
Independent schools - pink
Pupil Referral Unit and Inclusion Support Services - purple

The nurseries that are maintained by Southampton City Council are listed in the box below. There are a range of private nurseries and child minders in the city as well.

Positive Alternatives for Southampton Students

The service offers support to young people who are excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. Based at the Melbourne Centre and the Compass Site.
