The consultation
Following city wide consultation we have drawn up a final set of proposals to increase the size of schools in the city. The extra places are required to accommodate the increased number of pupils that will require a school place in Southampton in 2011, 2012 and beyond. The consultation period for all the proposals closed on 15 February 2011.
After considering all the responses, a report was taken to Cabinet on 14 March 2011, recommending that all the proposals be taken forward. A copy of the report can be found at the bottom of this page. We can now confirm that these recommendations were approved by Cabinet.
The LA will continue to work closely with schools to deliver these projects, to ensure that we can provide a school place to all children in the city that require one.
