The School Library Service support Local Authority schools in Southampton by providing resources and advice on the organisation and running of school libraries.
Books are borrowed on a bulk loan basis, with an allocation of 2 books per pupil in secondary schools and 3 books per pupil in primary schools. These can be exchanged at the School Library Service Centre, or using the School Library Mobile which visits primary schools. Short term loan items are available to specific teachers, these include CDs, DVDs and restricted loan materials.
Emotional literacy booklists
We have produced several emotional literacy booklists for pre-school and Key Stages 1 and 2, but there are some titles that could be used with slightly older children. These are available to download near the bottom of this page.
