Museums: 2008 Events

The various museums in the city have great exhibitions and events all year round.
CHILDREN AND FAMILY EVENTS
All children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult throughout the events and activities.

Want to have a go at all things ghoulish during the half term break?
Come and create your own spooky Halloween puppets, monster masks and listen to some chilling tales told by Southampton Library Service. You are all welcome to come dressed in your creepiest costumes.
Christmas Holidays

Drop-in for all the family - £1 per child
A wonderful way to celebrate Christmas. Make your own Tudor themed Christmas card and write your message with feathered quills, make someone a sweet-smelly sweet bag, the perfect present that gets rid of bad smells, dress up in our Tudor costumes and try your hand at Tudor Dance.

A rare opportunity to see the impressive interior of Tudor Merchant's Hall. This timber framed medieval building originally stood in the centre of St Michael's Square, but was moved to its present location in the 17th century.

A chance to view the city from one of Southampton's iconic landmarks. there is a minimum of 10 people per tour, therefore, pre booking is essential.
Tours of the Mayoral Rooms

The splendid 1930's decor of the Mayoral Rooms can be seen, as well as civc regalia and tresures. Each tour will last approximatley 30 minutes.

Fully accessible.
Guided tour of Southampton's Archives in their climate-controlled stors. The collections date from 1199 to the present day and cover all aspects of the city's history.

An excellent opportunity to see how the building has been repaired and saved for the future, following a 60 week renovation project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. A SCC Park Ranger will be available to answer any questions about the garden.

To coincide with the Tudor House Open Days, St Michael's Church, the oldest building in the city, will be open to the public.
TUDOR HOUSE LECTURE SERIES
A series of lectures relating to the current project to repair, restore, reinterpret and reopen Tudor House Museum.
All lectures will be held at the Tudor Merchants Hall, Westgate, Southampton and will start at 7.30pm.
Light refreshments will be available from 7pm.
Tickets will cost £3.50 (£2.50 for FOSMAG and SCMAS members), and any profits made will go towards the Tudor House project.
