Southampton Mela Festival: 19 July

Art Asia proudly presents the 6th Southampton Mela Festival on Saturday 19 July.
The Festival is back to spice up the city!

Once again Hoglands Park will come to life with the colours, sounds and smells from the South-Asian continent, as people from the local and surrounding communities get together to have fun and celebrate traditional and modern South-Asian culture in this free festival. This year, the event has also joined forces with the K2 Festival organisers.

The event opens at 12.00 noon and runs until 9.00pm. This year guarantees an action packed day with a selection of...

  • Live music and dance on the main stage - styles ranging from South Asian Classical, Folk, World Music, Qawwali, Asian fusion, Bhangra to Bollywood
  • Workshops and Demonstrations in Music & Dance and Arts & Crafts
  • Family fun with a range of Arts & Crafts activities, a designated play area and a funfair
  • Stalls - varying from ethnic clothes and accessories, beauty and henna hand tattooing, arts & crafts, community and much more...

With 20,000 visitors to last years Mela from diverse backgrounds, the festival offers a fantastic opportunity for local shops and businesses to come along and promote their products and services.

Location
Hoglands Park is one of Southampton's Central Parks located in the heart of the city opposite Debenhams with excellent public transport links.

If you are using Sat Nav, the post code for this area is SO14 1NH.

Please note that car parking is not available within the park although there are many car parks nearby.
