Race for Life: 13 July

Congratulations to all those who took part in the Race for Life on Southampton Common last year as the rain held off just long enough for the last participant to cross the finish line.
This was certainly the best attended Race for Life in the city with more than 10,000 women running for Cancer Research UK.
So it is your chance to make 2008 even better by signing up to The Race for Life on July 13 and have a great time with family and friends too!
Who can enter?
The race is open to women of all ages and involves walking, jogging or running around a five kilometre course on Southampton Common.
Venue and Start time
The event will take place on Southampton Common and will start at 11 am.
It is advisable to arrive at least one hour earlier to enable you to participate in the warm ups.

Parking
Please note that there will be no parking on Southampton Common. Please use city centre car parks and allow extra time to walk to the event.
To prevent congestion we strongly recommend that you use public transport or car share to get to the venue.

Cancer Research UK
Cancer research UK funds a range of research projects in Southampton, many of which are carried out with the charity's Medical Oncology Unit at Southampton General Hospital.
The unit is world-renowned for its research into ways to harness the power of the immune system to help treat people with cancer.
Anyone participating in the Southampton event all be part of a total of 750,000 women from across the UK, taking part at more than 260 events.
