There are loads of problems that our planet has to deal with each day. There are lots and lots of people living on planet Earth, and our planet's resources won't last forever. But we can do lots of things to help to look after the world, and to make sure that our environment has a greener future.

Wild life

When you take a quick look, our city does not seem to be a home for wildlife - but look a little closer, in the parks, on waste land, and in your garden. These green spaces are home to all sorts of plants and creatures you may not have noticed before. If you are interested in what lives around you follow these links:

> Spiders and insects > Structures in nature > Camouflage family day > City creatures > Creepy crawlies > Plant pots and bird feeders > Worm charming

Green Living

We need to understand that almost everything is reusable or recyclable. “Waste material” does not exist. Nothing should ever go to waste. To find out what we can do with stuff we no longer want or need check out:

> Re-cycle > The art of rubbish > Mini MuRF > Pick your park

Come outside

Drag yourself away from the TV or the computer and get some fresh air and exercise. Get out in the parks around Southampton and have a healthy, fun-filled school holiday:

> Down by the riverside > Parks, ponds and paddling > What do you think? > Pitch and putt @ Weston > Blooming marvellous > Garden chandeliers > Into the labyrinth
