Vote now - do your bit to get kids active in Southampton!

Southampton City Council’s Youth Fitness Academy initiative has applied for funding through the Norwich Union Community Sports Fund - vote now to do your bit to get kids active in Southampton!

Youth fitness academy (YFA)

is your chance to use some of the facilities in three of our venues:

Bitterne Leisure Centre
Chamberlayne Leisure Centre
The Quays 'Eddie Read' Swimming and Diving complex

Keeping fit and healthy now will help you to build a healthy foundation for the future.

YFA allows you to workout in a gym (at certain times)
under the guidance of trained fitness instructors

It's specifically for those aged 11-15 and is designed for you to come along and get some personalised advice,
whatever your fitness level!

Work out in a friendly atmosphere, with people your own age in a choice of three gyms -
you can even bring your friends!

Getting started
You will need to book an induction, so that you learn to use equipment safely. Instructors will ensure
you understand what each piece of equipment is designed to do.

All three gyms have TV and music effects to keep you motivated with the
latest music and television to date.
