Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC, Southampton Branch)

Love archaeology? If you’re aged 8 – 16 why not join your local branch of the Young Archaeologists’ Club. It’s run by Southampton Archaeology Unit and meets ten times a year to investigate the past.

Who can use this service:

The club is for eight to sixteen year olds who are interested in finding out more about the past. Many of our members are already members of the National Young Archaeologists' Club which is run by the Council for British Archaeology (See the link on the right).

Charges:

The Southampton Branch makes an annual charge of £5 per family which helps with administration costs. In addition we occasionally ask for small donations to cover resources. National charges can be found on the Council for British Archaeology website (link to the right of this page).

Ways To Pay:

By cheque (payable to Southampton City Council) or postal order. Payment can be posted, or delivered in person during working hours or at a meeting.

To join the National Young Archaeologists Club visit the Council for British Archaeology Website, ‘phone and request a leaflet or pick one up at the Mission Hall (9am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday), the Archaeology Museum (Winkle Street) or Maritime Museum (Town Quay Road).
