Allotment Services
Allotment services can tell you which sites are available, take bookings and give you advice about how to get the best out of an allotment, depending on what you want to grow. There are over 1600 allotment plots on 23 different sites around the city, available to rent annually.

Ways to pay
Customers can pay for charges by phone using a credit card or face-to-face at the cash office, local housing office, banks or post office or customers can send a cheque by post. An application is required for the use of this service by contacting us Online, By phone or in person at Gateway.

Anyone who lives within one mile of the city boundary is eligible to apply for our allotments. The cost to rent a site depends on the location and size of the plot. The average standard plot costs around £32 a year. Discounts are available for over 60s and people receiving benefits should ask the allotments officer for more details.

Further information

Customers wishing to take on an allotment will need to go to Gateway at the Civic Centre to sign the allotment agreement.
