Children and young people

You'll find a children's section in every Southampton library. We have all sorts of books for children of every age - from board books for babies to graphic novels for teens. There are computers to help with homework, music and films to borrow, and activities throughout the year. These pages give you more information.

Summer Reading Challenge - Team Read

Go for gold this summer and join in with Team Read at your local library. The challenge starts on Monday 19 July

Babies and toddlers

OK so you can’t read, but who says you can’t gurgle and burp? At Southampton Libraries we welcome babies because we know babies love books.

Children 5 - 12

Libraries have all kinds of children's books. We can help you with homework, but that’s not all we're here for. Look here for information about your favourite author and books you can read just for fun!

Children's activities

There is always something going on in your local library... these pages give you information about fun activities for children.

Information for Adults

Teenzone

All libraries in Southampton have books for teenagers. You will find them in a section of the library called Teenzone.
