What is Team Read?


Team Read is the name of the 2008 children's Summer Reading Challenge. TEAM READ will take place in all public libraries in Southampton throughout the summer holidays. Take the challenge from Monday 19 July - Saturday 6 September 2008

How do I take part?

You can sign up for TEAM READ at your local library.

Everyone taking part in the challenge will be encouraged to read six books.

It's up to you what you read - choose books from all sections of the library including stories, picture books, information books and stories on CD.

You will be given a TEAM READ pack to record your progress throughout the challenge.

For every two books you read you will be rewarded with exclusive stickers. If you read two books you will get a bronze sticker. Four books you will get a silver sticker. If you manage to read six books you will be awarded a gold sticker and a special Team Read certificate and medal.

Team Read for visually impaired children

Children who are blind or have a visuall impairment are encouraged to join in Team Read. All libraries have stories on CD and cassette and exclusively this year a brand new collection of PLAYAWAYS - stories you can listen to on the move or at home.
