Reservation Service
If an item you want is on loan to someone else, we will be happy to reserve it for you, or you may like to do it yourself via the library catalogue using your library card and PIN. Click on this link library catalogue and follow the on screen instructions. There are free reservations for any items found on the library catalogue and you can choose which library to pick them up from.
If the book you want is not on the library catalogue, we can either order a copy or borrow the title from another library. There is a small charge £2.00 for this service.
We can also obtain journal articles, sets of music scores and occasionally books from abroad.
Once an item is ready for collection we can either send you letter or notification via email. Please ask staff for more information.
If you would like to suggest a CD/DVD title to be added to stock - please use the recommendation books found in most libraries.
Music Groups - request service
Music groups that meet and rehearse in Southampton can request sets of music. We can get full orchestral sets and 40 vocal scores. There is a £5 charge for each set ordered.
Groups should give a minimum of six weeks notice and apply in person at any library. Your group will be issued with a special library card - a named person will look after the card, order sets and be responsible for items borrowed on the card.
