We provide a range of services for adults with long and short term health and care needs. Together with the primary care trust, the NHS and voluntary organisations we work to make sure that you have access to the services that you need to live as independently as possible. We also offer advice and support to carers and relatives of people receiving, or in need of, our services.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) used to prepare an annual report on Adult social care in each local authority; the last of these reports on Southampton was prepared in 2009 and can be downloaded below.
Adult social care will now report directly to local residents. This will be done via a new document called a ‘Local Account’. The Local Account provides information on the performance of local adult social care services as well as details of future priorities for service delivery. The Local Account is an important tool for the public to use in holding the local authority to account for the quality of the services it provides.
The full Local Account and the report summary are available for download below.
If you need information about children's social care please see our children's social care pages. General health services, such as doctors and dentists, are provided by the Southampton City Primary Care Trust (SCPCT) and the National Health Service (NHS).
